ICONIC

The past couple of weeks, me and D have been busy planning, doing and editing a photoshoot and designing posters, brochures, tickets etc for our school fashion show. The theme is musical icons and these are the photos that have finally been put up as posters. Massive thankies to A and B for being such willing models and D's parents for letting us use their studio. :)

Ps. Please tell me you recognised them as Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga!

Le Font

Feeling a combination of Frenchie and rocker so pretty wonderful. Wearing a Santana tshirt (technically banned but no one said anything woo), H&M jacket, River Island pants and Topshop booties. :)

Prohibited

Neither leggings nor denim jackets (although I got away with 3 in the two weeks) are allowed in school so I have to get my illegal fixes at the weekends. Went out on a moody walk and found a postbox (loving its wonkiness) which is just after telephone boxes and buses on the red scale of Britishness so obviously I had to take photos by it.

Wearing Topshop leggings, random tshirt (again, banned), vintage jacket, DM's and Asos scarf. I bought this scarf at the start of summer and love it so much I even took it to Gozo...where there was 37 degree weather. :)

A Lady

Felt beautifully elegant in this floaty but structured dress and leather driving gloves. Also, I was somewhat surprised to be told more than once that the gloves made me look as if I was plotting an evil plan... interesting. Dress from Miss Selfridge, gloves and belt from Topshop, Kurt Geiger heels. :)

Teddy bear

(Faux) fur collar I cut off an old capelet, UO jumper and I can't remember where the brooch is from (shocking blogger I know I am). I felt like a cosy, cuddly teddy bear all day wearing this collar and my favourite, comfiest jumper. If you're having a bad day, I advise a fur collar becase you only have to lift your shoulder to snuggle. :)

Hold on (my heart)

^Genesis

I've waited about 2 weeks to wear this skirt and planned it very carefully on a day when I was not walking too much, doing excersise, doing messy art and it wasn't raining. So much effort. But I finally got to wear my princess skirt! ...And yes I'm in a field. Wearing a skirt made by my mom, Topshop top, Zara boots and a Hollister cardigan. :)

Comfy grunge

Genuinely felt like I was wearing swooshy pyjamas all day. I'm thinking comfy Friday has got to be a regular thing. Vintage shirt from UO, Zara skirt and Topshop boots. :)

Madre monster

Too tired and no time to point a camera at myself. Two unrelated exciting projects underway. :)

Svenska

A few photos from Sweden.

Vintage top (we think it must have been a cheerleader's top in the 80's/90's) H&M skirt, L's bangles, refashioned Claire's earrings.

Due to horrific packing, I have no more outfit photos from the trip. That'll teach me to pack in a bad mood late the night before leaving. :)

Petite

Apologies for the really boring photos, I'm shattered and really stressed - it's only been about 3 days but I've already got short deadlines for art projects and the school fashion show which I'm involved in. And it started to rain just as I'd set the tripod up.

A school outfit, with about the shortest skirt I think I can get away with, *sigh*. It's actually knee-length when worn not incredibly high but that is just the length that I think looks the very worst on me. Wearing a very old skirt (I know, how long must it used to have been?!), dad's old jumper, friend's bracelets, DIY feather earring but you can't see it properly, Cos socks (my new favourite socks), Topshop boots and a satchel from Afflecks. Which is sadly too small to close when I put all my shiz in it, but hey that's the price I pay for a beautiful bag. Also, I got a lot of compliments on the skirt which I found a little odd since it's a bit...pink. :)

Gusty

Dramatic photo but with these pants who can resist. I got told I looked like a princess which may have made my day if it weren't for people somewhat taking the mick the rest of the day. Palazzo pants from Topshop, denim jacket from H&M and Docs. The only thing harder than taking photos of yourself is taking photos of yourself while trying to capture the right gust of wind.

Also, school's (some may say ridiculously, and by some I mean myself) strict dress code and my limited cash supply means that I shall be working with a capsule wardrobe of trousers and skirts. Obviously, for my own personal amusement, I'm going to mix it up as much as I can but the same things may appear on the blog a lot...soz. But I'm doing this blog for me not you and that's what I've got to remember. However detention ain't so fun, even if it's for a cause I believe in. *Sigh*. :)

Old skool

This is my 7.30 am fake smile on the first day back when all I want to do is get back into my warm bed. And this is my annual cringe first day photo which my dad insists on taking every year. He then went to work with my camera which meant my the time I got it back it was too dark for more (ie. proper) photos.

Wearing a Miss Selfridge jacket, mom's blouse, satchel from Affleck's, Topshop leapard boots, self-made necklace and a Topshop skirt that I distinctly remember referring to as "smart but sporty!" (with dramatic poses) in front of some new kids... I embarass myself. At least I'll be known as the weird fashion kid rather than the generally weird kid. :)

Ps. I was going for an old-fashioned school/nun look but was forced to adopt a jacket - stupid rain - so you can't really tell in this picture.

Sunday 4 September 2011

Concrete jungele

Apologies for the bad quality of the photos and the extremely awkward posing. I'd forgotten friend photographers and bad lighting don't mix well.

Wearing Zara trousers, Santana tshirt, I's beaten-up converse, assorted friend's bracelets and my magic bag from Hoopers. Yes it's broken but I needed an old friend for comfort. And I like to wear friends' clothes/jewellery, it constantly reminds me of them. Also, these pants are half of a suit I bought for school - wait 'til you see it in all its snakeprint glory. I now own two complete snakeprint outfits... do I need help? :)

September Girls

^The Bangles

Yesterday was the first of September and to herald autumn I wore my most aumtumnal sweater. The weather was annoyingly sunny for such a dark outfit but whatever.

Wearing an American Apparel skirt as a dress, random tights, mom's old fleece, Topshop boots and an old basket bag. And although it looks like I am wearing excessive doll make-up in the second photo, I can assure you I was just very hot and embarassed from scrambling through bushes while little kids watched in fascination. :)
