Round the collar of fire

My hair confuses me by being different on a daily basis. But as they say, variety is the spice of life and I have grown to be rather fond of it.

Wish I had taken a photo of the back of this top of mother's, 'twas wonderful. Ah well, just means I gotta wear it again soon.

Mother's blazer, H&M dress.

Yes my mother's closet is indeed full of gems...half of which she never wears. Much of it is kept years and years ago - the above jacket is half of a suit she bought in (I assume) the 80's or early 90's for my auntie's wedding. I hoard everything too, especially clothes in the hope that one day I'll be able to pass on garments and their stories. :)

A warm embrace

Wearing an H&M skirt, shopped USA Pro top and dad's sweater. When I got dressed, I was going to title this post "sunday blues" because I hate sundays 11am-5pm but by the time I got round to taking photos I was feeling a lot happier (and listening to much bouncier music). :)

Ps. All my nails are matching red and sparkly. Life complete. I swear having perfect nails is the cherry on top of the cake of self-actualisation. (Such a shame they'll only last about a day because I do too much arty crafty stuff.)

Eastern influence

Wearing mother's blouse, H&M skirt and assorted stolen jewellery (I do love stealing my friends' jewellery). Only one photo because I froze extremely quickly.

I was originally gonna wear this top with my long black (also sheer) skirt for a gothic look but decided I've been wearing a lot of basic black recently so went for a bright blue instead and turned out kind of eastern-y I think. Also, I'd swear the light browny colour in my hair is spreading...weird. And I wanna redo my ends so they're more blonde.. :)

Ps. Thank you to my new follower :)

Prim

I love winter but it forces me to get very creative with photo settings. (Welcome to my larder.)

Wearing mom's shirt dress thing over a plain black AA dress, Zara boots, mom's belt and assorted stolen jewellery. I carried my massive fur coat around today in the vain hope that it would make the world colder (why is it never cold when I'm dressed warmly but always when I'm not?!) and because wearing it makes me feel like a princess (or a pimp, depending on my mood).

Is this why they call me weird?

Inspired by Panda and procrastination.

Wearing a vintage dress, mom's belt, pants from Amsterdam, Docs, self-made glitter bracelet (it's winter, hello cheesy glitter obsession) and fake flowers.

I've not worn my Docs out like this yet, but I intend to as soon as I get some smaller flowers (I keep standing on the green bits and tripping). Yes I fully expect weird looks but I think they look really cool. I actually wore my leopard boots out with this outfit but whatevs. :)

Eskimo hippy

Wearing my dad's cardi, top from NY, Primark jacket, friend's necklace and Topshop boots.

I got a lot of abuse from my friends for this outfit ahahaha. Apparently not only do I look like a hippy (to be fair I did sit cross-legged on a table making dreamcatchers), I was called a "hippy-slash-eskimo that has to go to work", I was asked if I am "normal" and told (multiple times) that my psychadelic top clashed with everything...which was exactly what I intended. Ah well, at least I was the entertainment for the day. I do enjoy dressing more unsually sometimes and I believe fashion can be about anything, including fun. :)

Debonaire

Wearing an Asos cape, Topshop gloves and boots, H&M shirt, mom's belt and necklace made by a friend.. :)

Ps. Photos unedited.

Hello winter

Mmm I think it's officially coat weather.

Dad's sweater, H&M top, mom's jeans and belt, assorted stolen bracelets and Christmas market bag.

Snow better come soon. Nothing better than a cold evening while you're wrapped up warm surrounded by twinkling lights....shame I'm in India for the holidays. :)

Electric city

Bane of my life: by the time I get home it's dark. Always wanted to take photos in a car park and this one was conveniently empty, had a convenient light, had a conveniently interesting backdrop (ie. non trees) and I conveniently had my camera and a willing victi- I mean photographer - with me.

Wearing Topshop blazer and top, selfmade necklace, River Island pants and DMs. I felt kind of grungey all day, probably because of the combination of heavy boots and light florals and lace (and pants that aren't the right size), and also the lovely drapey shape of the top, but in these photos I don't see it...weird. Cool. :)

(Yes I know I appear to have a facial smudge in the last photo. The world couldn't be perfect could it.)

Deer me

The best thing to do on a cold empty winter morning is definitely to take photos. Discovered my old school blazer...plus friend. I was told it was very "hipster" ahaha. Wearing it with a Zara skirt, Hollister shirt and Topshop boots ring and earrings (which made it back safely after a couple of months in Sweden!).

I remember having a slight obsession with deer, antlers and triangles early in the year...must remind myself of that love seeing as it's sort-of-almost winter! :)

Wild one

A proper look at my beloved snake print suit. When people ask where it's from and I say Zara, they always look surprised because its such a ..normal shop. Never fails to make me lol. Worn in it's more casual incarnation with Kurt Geiger heels, H&M shirt and mom's bag from Kenya.

Today was a good day - lots of people complimented my artwork and also my suit. A little help swelling my ego is always appreciated. :)

Loser

^ Les Plastiscines

When my best friend first saw me in this (+ Docs), she said "very French eighties" which is only the best compliment ever. I was planning to save this skirt to wear with a cute white jacket on the day of a French test but gave in and wore it anyway. The pockets are my favourite thing.

Wearing a River Island skirt and father's ski jumper. :)

Sins of my youth

^Neon Trees

Nearing winter, time to freeze again yay. Neon colours are such fun, I love when dressing is for pure fun. That's why I like shorts, they're so easy to move in and make me feel young. Wearing an H&M shirt, DIY shorts from mom's jeans, mom's belt, neon bandeau from UO and H&M necklace. :)
