Can u not

These are my final photos for my print project, where we had to make a dress out of printed, stretch fabric. I designed and made all the prints, apart from the black and white giraffe-like print (actually squares) and the polka dots. I was inspired by romanticised ideas of Los Angeles, 1960s futurism, the 1970s Memphis group, swimming pools and low/high tech digital art. This was a very low-key "photoshoot" involving my flatmate, the corridor/space outside my studio, my favourite socks/sandals combination, natural light and two minute make-up, but I absolutely love how it turned out. :)

After having to wear all black last week (the print studio can get messy), I decided it was time for a bit of colour. I love this skirt so much (hellooooo PVC), but it's annoyingly big around the waist. I'll take it in at some point when I get round to it. Also, interesting fact: I made this jacket reversible and I usually wear it the other way round, but I don't think it's ever made it onto the blog. I shall have to remedy that. :)

Usually I'm a sucker for a waist-defining skirt but recently I've been wanting dress slouchy more and more. I think I'm falling for the art student stereotype but hey, it's comfy and looks cool, so who cares? Anyway my search for the perfect dungarees was accidentally answered (while present-shopping for my cousins) and these are so soft, so comfortable, and so louche I never wanna take 'em off. Also, I finally gave in to the cool kids and got a colourful (and again so comfortable) pair of kicks. I swear I've literally been wearing this outfit for days straight…. literally. :)

PS. Not one person today asked me what existentialism was… score 1 for art school over sixth form.

Another day, another theatre trip. I really should wear this skirt more often considering how much I love it. And it goes so well with my brocade top! :)56
